Why practise yoga?

Regular yoga practice can increase flexibility and strength, help physical conditions such as backache, stiffness and headaches, regulate blood pressure and strengthen the body’s own healing systems. Yoga can also instil a sense of deep calm and contentment. It can offer the space to sink inside and just ‘be’ – something which is increasingly rare in our busy lives.

Often, students might come to yoga for a specific physical reason but find that its the deeper sense of wellbeing that yoga can instil that keeps them coming back.

In my classes I blend learnings from the Sivananda, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Kundalini and Himalayan Vedic traditions into a sequence which stretches and strengthens the body while bringing it into harmony with the mind. Ancient breathwork sequences help to shift stagnant energy creating space for new patterns of wellbeing to form. My aim is to help students to rebalance their energy so that they feel lighter and more positive after class.

I aim to keep my classes friendly and accessible and students tell me they enjoy practising in community. Students of all levels are welcome. You can find out more about the different classes I offer and how to book here https://www.hamyoga.co.uk/yoga-class-details-2/

I understand that starting a yoga class for the first time can be daunting. If you would like to know more about whether my classes are for you please don’t hesitate to get in touch https://www.hamyoga.co.uk/contact-us/.
